A noted reformer, Noland voted to impeach Rod Blagojevich and passed a constitutional amendment giving voters the power to recall a governor. Senator Noland was a co-sponsor of a bill which called for the end of a long time practice of elected officials placing their names on taxpayer funded signs and other electronic messaging.  He supported campaign finance reform and will continue working to change the status quo.

Noland has been on the forefront of pension reform and was selected to be part of Governor Quinn’s pension reform panel to give recommendations to reform Illinois’s pension system. His fresh eyes on the issue brings to the table a sense of fairness coupled with a sense of urgency. He believes everyone involved with this issue should come with an open mind, focus on facts, and put aside the emotions and politics. He continues to work with labor, the business community and legislators to resolve Illinois’ pension issues.
